While I have not gone totally “green” yet, I am making baby steps…actually, I have made a big leap. Since I started making my own homemade cleaners, I have given up using most commercial cleaners. Although it’s been quite tempting when I run across a $1 coupon and a BOGO (buy one get one) sale, I have not purchased any commercial laundry detergent, fabric softener, window cleaner, dishwasher detergent, carpet fresh, abrasive cleaners, or air freshener in approximately 9 months. I am, however, still hanging on to my gallon of bleach, my bottle of ammonia, and my Dawn dish detergent. I may need to check into rehab to give those up as they are my most beloved cleaning products, especially the bleach and Dawn, but I am working on it.
For now, this video is serving as a little boost of inspiration for me to give them up completely. I hope it inspires you too.
Enjoy!

Hi Pinky,
I just had to leave you a note. I was diagnosed with cancer last year and am still fighting the fight. As a result, I have given up all of the commercial cleaners and detergents in favor of homemade alternatives with products that are as natural as I can find to give my immune system a break. Your recipes are some of the best I've found and I just wanted to say thank you for them and thanks for doing your videos. I never would have thought of using the blender to get the soap finer. I've been using Ivory soap and for whatever reason it comes out a little sticky. However, it works. I will try the blender though next batch. Thanks and take care. Sebrina
I must confess… I cannot and just DO not see me giving up my Clorox bleach…. I am a bleach fanatic, passed down from my mom…. I have used Melaleuca products for 10+ years and due to cost… I am finding your recipes to be excellent alternatives! Thanks for the wonderful and informative videos…
