A Brighter Day

A woman opening the shutters.Have you ever read a blog post that just made you feel so good inside? Yesterday, I stumbled across a post titled "Ten Ways to Brighten Today, Right This Very Minute". I was instantly moved to begin working my way through the list and finding other simple little ways that could brighten my day. Today, I began by opening my blinds and windows and letting the sunshine and some fresh air in. What will you do to make today a brighter day?

Here are a few of the tips as posted on the Oh, Hello, Friend blog:

Write somebody a letter. No – not an e-mail, an honest-to-goodness handwritten letter. Now put it in an envelope, address it, and stamp it. Mail it, even if they live just a few miles away. You've just mailed an impending smile!

Donate five dollars to charity. You'll get a warm fuzzy and help somebody who needs it. Might I recommend donating to the National Foundation for Cancer Research in honor of Danni's beautiful mother?

Clean out the junk drawer. Yes, you heard me right. Cleaning is cathartic, and the junk drawer is a small, manageable place to start. You'll feel so fresh and so clean, clean afterwards – I promise!

Wear an absurdly fancy dress to the grocery store, the post office, or the local diner, for no reason at all. You'll feel pretty and have a little extra spring in your step all day long!

Doesn't that make you feel good? Please head over to Oh, Hello, Friend and enjoy the rest of the tips. I guarantee you'll feel good and inspired to make today and everyday a brighter day.
