@Connie, the difference with using the Oxy-Clean is that the clothes seem to come out whiter and brighter. Without it, my whites were clean, but they didn't have that bright white look that I love. I guess I should go back and edit my post, huh?

@Aiden, I order my scented oil from candlepro.com. As for the the soap, I purchase mine at the grocery store in the laundry aisle. If you can't find it, try using Ivory. I hear that works really well. I plan on trying it myself.

I love this recipe- I am in Toronto Canada, and was wondering where Zote may be purchased- if it CAN be- and also- what brand oil are you using- i love anything 'linen' or 'clean cotton' so i wanted to give the 'laundrymat' a try. Thank you- and i love your site!!

In the video you use Oxyclean but it is not mentioned in the recipe. Is there a reason for that?
I really look forward to making my own laundry detergent.

@Honey...I know what you mean. I still have half a box of my old, store bought detergent, but this is all my husband reaches for. He absolutely loves the smell.

Hi Pinky! This recipe works great! My hubby was a little afraid to use it at first, but now since he has seen that it works and saves us money, he's all for it! I also added 1 cup of clorox 2 non-chlorine powder to our recipe. It keeps our colored clothes from looking faded. Thanks God Bless
