Who knew vodka can be used to kill weeds? Pour about an ounce of vodka into a cup of water. Add a few drops of liquid dish detergent and mix the solution together using a wooden or plastic spoon. Pour the mixture into a clean spray bottle. Spray directly onto the unwanted weeds in your yard or garden while there’s plenty of sunshine still out. The solution will react with the heat of the sun to kill off the weeds.

is this safe on grass? will it kill just the weed and spare the grass, or is this just for weeds creeping out of sidewalks and patios?
Is there a non-alcoholic version? Side note: I know my mother used beer to kill the slugs in her strawberries when I was a kid. And Dad would put tomato worms and potato beatles in a coffee can with gasoline in the bottom of it. I'm so glad we don't get tomato worms in SLC, Utah.
@Heidi – Yes. You can also use vinegar.
Thanks for stopping by.
