 Who knew hydrogen peroxide can remove blood stains from clothes? Soak the blood stained area in the peroxide and let sit for a while. Rub together or scrub stain periodically while soaking. You’ll start to see the stain disappearing. Continue to soak until stain is gone. Wash article as usual.

 Who knew ordinary hair shampoo was excellent for scrubbing away ring-around-the-collar stains? How so, you may be asking? The soap in shampoo is designed to dissolve body oils, therefore making it a perfect solution to use. It kinda makes you wanna say “Ah ha”, doesn’t it?

 Who knew shaving cream can be used to clean crayon marks off of walls? Amazing, right? Pump out a dab of shaving cream onto the crayon mark and brush away using a toothbrush or scrubber.

 Who knew petroleum jelly can be used to remove melted plastic from the toaster? Coat the melted plastic with Vaseline and then push the toaster button down as if you were going to toast a piece of bread. As the toaster heats up, the plastic will begin to melt. After the invisible toast pops up, get a clean, damp cloth and wipe away. The melted plastic should wipe off easily.

 Who knew charcoal briquettes, yep..the kind you use on the grill, can be used to help keep your refrigerator odor free? Just put a few pieces into a mesh bag and place it in the back of the refrigerator. Don’t have a mesh bag? Cut out the foot a pair of pantyhose and tie a knot in the end after you stick the briquettes in. Replace about once a month.

 Who knew brewed coffee could be used to help prevent and restore faded black clothing? Simply add 2 cups of brewed coffee to the rinse cycle of your load of black clothing. Don’t have any coffee? Use 2 cups of strongly brewed black tea instead.
 Every time I walk into my son’s room, it brings back old memories. Not because his room is decked out with sentimental hand-me-downs from his grandparents or great-grands or memoirs from past family reunions, but because the stinky smell reminds me of the locker room from my high school days.  Who knew that bay leaves could be used to ward off weevils and other tiny insects and bugs from your dried foods and grains? Just stick a dried bay leaf or two directly into the containers where you store your rice, flour, oatmeal, grits, etc. The insects hate the smell.

 Don’t you just hate squeaky doors? Aside from alerting me when my teenage son tries to sneak in the house past his curfew, they serve no other purpose other than to drive me nuts. To tame that irritating door, pour some olive or vegetable oil on a cotton ball and thoroughly wipe the door hinges.
This neat little trick can also be used on car door hinges too.

 Who knew a lemon wedge thrown in the pot with cabbage will help tame the odor it gives off while it’s cooking? As an added bonus, it’ll even spike up the flavor.
