About

this is me Thanks for checking out my site. I am your hostess here, Pink E. Love…yes, that's my real name. I am a happily married woman with two children, a daughter and a son, and a proud grandmother. What! Wait!….did I say grandmother? Okay, I know what you're thinking; either my picture is really old or I am a really young grandmother. Honestly, both! The picture is 3 years old and I'm in my fabulous forties…early forties. When I was young, and even until this day, I thought my grandmother knew everything. I'm sure it's probably just a matter of time before my grandchildren will think I do too….my daughter certainly does. (Shhh….don't tell her that I don't. It will certainly ruin her.) Now, if you're grandmother is anything like mine, she always has one or two cleaning recipes or home remedies for just about everything, from using milk on plant leaves to give them a shine to cleaning wood floors with brewed tea to using vinegar to clean glass. Honestly, I never gave much thought to any of those old wives recipes, especially since I could just run to the nearest grocery or drug store and purchase cleaners that were already mixed and packaged for just about any purpose and in just about any fragrance that I wanted. I can make my carpet smell like Country Gardens, my bathrooms like Mountain Mist, and my kitchen like Fresh Cut Flowers. However, as I get older and…ahem..wiser, I am becoming more and more concerned about the effects that these chemicals may have on me and my family's health as well as the environment. Truth be told, I am also experiencing the joys of being a grandmother myself, so I figure it's high time that I roll my sleeves up and give some of Grandma's homemade cleaning recipes and remedies a try to see if they really work. Let's face it, you really can't call yourself a 'real' grandmother until you've skillfully mastered the art of whipping together some ingredients right from your own pantry and performing a miracle or two. Hey, if you have a recipe or two that you'd like for me to try, feel free to send it to me. pink_sig
